Hi there! I’m Mehdya. I’m a native French speaker and the founder of Speak & Joy. After teaching French at private language schools, including the Alliance Française for eight years, I noticed that there was a gap in the language learning industry.

French learners desired more personalized and custom lessons that would inspire them to speak French with confidence, and a supportive environment where they could improve on their mistakes without feeling shame or embarrassment.

Which is why I decided to create Speak & Joy.

General FAQ

  • Group classes, private lessons, and workshops can all be found on the offer page.

  • Payments must be made in full at the time of registering.

    All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

  • Online classes are conducted in real-time via Zoom or Whereby. Please use a computer (desktop or laptop) or a tablet with a camera and microphone to connect to your class. Students who do not wish to enable both their video and their audio should contact us prior to purchasing, as we prefer to maximize class participation and learning environment by having both audio and camera on.

  • Yes. The registration processing fees are charged for each enrollment completed online and are included in the price you see.

  • When you register for a class or download our Free Ebook about Love, you are automatically added to our e-newsletter mailing list.

    Once on our mailing list, you will begin to receive our weekly newsletter, which will include information about future events, Workshops, stories, and Speak & Joy French tips.

    We will also send you information regarding session start times, member discounts, class satisfaction surveys, forthcoming seminars or programs that may be of interest to you, and so on.

    Memorial Day, the last Monday in May

    Labor Day, the First Monday in September
